Perry Street Premier: Chard United 5-1 Perry Street & Yonder Hill
CHARD United earned a very impressive 5-1 victory at the weekend at home against Perry Street & Yonder Hill.
The three points pushes Chard up to third place in the Perry Street & District Premier Division and just six points off league leaders Misterton.
With two games in hand on the two teams above them, the ball is in Chard's court for taking over at the top.
In the match, United were in control for almost the entire 90 minutes as they capitalised on their chances and were solid at the back.
Up next for Chard United is in fact an away trip to take on Misterton on Saturday, February 3.
Elsewhere across the leagues, it was the Challenge Cup Quarter Finals at the weekend.
Combe St Nicholas Reserves lost 0-1 to Halstock, Misterton defeated Barrington 2-1, Shepton Beauchamp lost on penalties to Yetminster United FC and South Petherton won 3-1 against Forton Rangers.
