ON Monday, 33 senior members of the Cricket St Thomas Golf club entered the 3 man reverse waltz competition.

Conditions favoured the golfers and the winning score of 81 points was achieved by Bob Dennett, John Baker and Roger Williams.

Nick Gabb, Terry Rutherford and Derek Gardener claimed second spot one point behind.

The rain affected the Seniors Bowmaker event on Wednesday and with a small turnout, Mark Kilpatrick, Rb Coombes & Roger Williams  were declared winners with 75 points.

On Friday, the competition was a three man combined stableford event. Mark Sanders, Ian Frost & Dennis Hussey returned a score of 112 points, enough to beat Martyn Leigh, Danny Dowell & Peter Spencer-Farr (111 points) into second place.

After Storm Ciaran hit the Somerset county, Cricket St Thomas GC provided an update from the greenkeepers.

They said: "Storm Ciaran has done it's best with us at CSTGC, but our fantastic greenkeepers have won the battle against the elements once again!

"Callum has been raking leaves and strimming, while Dave was busy digging and installing a brand new sign. The course has looked fabulous, and it's this time of year that reminds us just what a great job our GKs really do."
