AT Cricket St Thomas Golf Club this past week, the Seniors started the week with the inaugural Past Captains Trophy which involved 16 surviving  members since 2004.

This individual stableford competition was won by John Pearce with an amazing round of 13 under par, 49 points. A tie ensued for second place between Barry Heath and Mark Cording, both with 42 points. After a buffet lunch, the trophy was presented to the winner by the present captain John Wandless.

Following this event, the remaining seniors participated in an individual stableford competition. Hussey won division 1 with 43 points, a score also returned by Leigh. Third place was claimed by Laughlan with 40 points. Rees was the Division 2 winner with 44 points, a 5 point winning margin over second placed Hilson.Withers was third on 38 points.

On Wednesday 13 pairs of seniors played a 4ball better ball competition. The early starters had the better of the weather and the combination of Hackling & Hussey won the day with a fine round of 50 points. In a tie for second spot were the pairings of Gingell & Gardener and Rutherford & Holmes who both returned scores of 46.

The seniors finished their week on Friday with a three man Bowmaker competition. Of the 10 teams who entered. the best score was returned by the Fisk/Sanders/Frost combination with 86 points. Second place was Kilpatrick/Leigh/Gabb with 84 points, and third place was awarded to Heath/Purrett/Hunt with 83 points.
