WITH the Premier Division title already in their possession, Perry Street entertained Barrington on Friday hoping to complete the league season unbeaten.

Barrington went ahead through Andy Whitefield but Perry Street levelled with a Steve Every shot.

The runners-up position was not decided until Saturday, when South Petherton travelled to Shepton Beauchamp knowing the winners would receive the medals.

The match was evenly contested and the outcome was decided in Petherton’s favour when Shane Adcock-Case scored the only goal from the penalty spot before the interval.

Misterton made certain of winning Division 1 in midweek by beating Crewkerne Rangers 3-1 thanks to Jake Barry, Scott Jennings and Harry Charles.

On the same night, Simon Denslow struck twice for Drimpton in a narrow 2-1 triumph at Waytown Hounds to see them claim second spot.

The winners consolidated the runners-up position on Saturday with a 3-2 home win over Uplyme.

Drimpton were trailing by two goals at half-time but turned things around through Ben Dickinson, Callan Strelley and Liam Adams.

In Division 2 South Petherton Reserves led Merriott Rovers by two points and that was how it remained after both sides won.

Pethy hammered Farway United 10-3 with leading scorer Jimmy Rees netting five times and Dan Kadir and Ryan Thurgood add a brace apiece while Matt Darby completed the tally. Fabio Souza bagged all three goals for the losers.

Merriott came up against much stiffer opposition at Combe B where a single goal by Mark Tweedie was enough to give them all three points.

With the Division 3 title already in their grasp, Halstock fielded a less experienced side at Perry Street Reserves and, despite putting up a gallant performance, suffered a second league defeat by losing 1-0.

The game was settled with a goal by Kev Rowson in the 36th minute.

The win sees Perry Street finish six points adrift of the champions.

Chris Rowswell and Rick Broadman both netted hat-tricks for Drimpton Reserves who enjoyed their first win in eight outings by coming from behind to beat Netherbury Reserves 8-5.

Luke Ward-Jones (2), Ryan Kingston, Tyman Jones and Pete Ellingham were on target for the Ambers with an Andy Jeffreys brace completing the scoring.

A Tom Hutchings goal wasn’t enough to save Ilminster Town A from their 16th consecutive defeat as they went down by the odd goal in three at Uplyme Reserves where James Souter-Phillips struck a double for the home side.

The reserve teams of Crewkerne Rangers and Chard Rangers shared the points and the goals in an eight-goal thriller.

Ian Bambury, Kris Durrant, Rob Doble and Matty Baker had a goal each for the Crewkerne outfit, while an Ali Maiz treble and a Ryan Peasland effort found the net for Chard.
