CHARD Town Under-18s maintained their three point lead at the top of the Somerset Floodlight Youth League with a 7-0 thrashing of Clevedon Town on Tuesday night.

Chard took a 12th minute lead when schoolboy international Jordan Storey headed against the bar from Josh Parsons' free kick and Braeden Symes poked home the rebound.

They had to wait another 25 minutes for the second when Matt Buse fired home from 20 yards.

Then on the hour mark an excellent team goal, involving five players and started and finished by Matt Buse, opened the floodgates.

A cracking 20 yard volley from Scott Jakeman made it 4-0 four minutes later and two further Storey goals soon made it six.

An exciting run by Dan Anjos which took him past four defenders ended with a delicate clip over the 'keeper to complete the scoring.
