THINGS are looking up for Ilminster Town as they battle against relegation from the premier division of the Somerset County league.
They endured a second successive postponement last weekend when their scheduled game at Bridgwater Town reserves was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
But with fellow strugglers Stockwood Green and Minehead battling out a 2-2 draw, the Blues’ destiny is increasingly in their own hands.
As things stand, four teams are due to be relegated, but Ilminster have games in hand on all the teams around them and a few good results could caterpault them to victory.
Tomorrow they are due to entertain Berrow (2.30pm) with a full squad with the exception of the suspended Brad Miles.
Manager Darren Manley said: “The lads have always felt we can avoid relegation and if we can get a strong squad together there is no reason why we can’t.
“Berrow should be an entertaining game. They are very good going forward but can be vulnerable at the back.”
When the two teams met at Berrow earlier in the season the home side won 3-2.
