CHARD B continued their unbeaten run with a 6-1 victory at East Devon D in South East 3 of the Davis Wood league.
They enjoyed plenty of the early possession but were unable to find a killer pass to open up a resolute East Devon defence.
Nick Parkinson eventually broke the deadlock, finishing off coolly as the ball bounced around after a penalty corner.
Two quick goals followed. First James Float struck then Andy Swain pounced on a rebound from the keeper’s save.
Durgan Cooper scored the fourth to settle the game going nto half-time.
The second half started a lot better for the home side who put Chard under pressure.
Some good defending by Nick Liggins and Matt Edmunds kept the home side’s wingers at bay but Chard were having to work harder.
They eventually managed to start pushing forward again, leading to a goal for Duncan Lewis.
But shortly afterwards a East Devon got their reward and Chard, reduced to ten men, had to concentrate that much harder.
But before the end Swain scored the pick of the goals when his shot from the top of the D left the goalkeeper no chance.
