MORE than £10,000 has been raised for three charities by a local pub and Lions club.
Landlords Jill and Chris from the Royal Oak, Over Stratton, and members of The Lions Club of Ilminster and District have been fundraising together the past eight years and have just hit the £10,000 milestone.
The money has been shared between the Lions club, Labrador Rescue and Somerset Sight. The two fundraisers have been running the Book Loan Scheme.
There is no limit on the amount of time a book can be loaned for, and people are asked to either donate money or books to the cause. The group have since added a DVD loan to the scheme.
