FIREFIGHTERS tackled a barn fire into the early hours of this morning (Monday, August 15).
Several calls were made to the fire service reporting the incident in East Lambrook at around 11pm yesterday.
Fire engines from Martock, Ilminster and Yeovil were mobilised together with the water bowser from Yeovil.
Upon arrival crews confirmed a 35-metre by eight-metre barn containing around 100 tonnes of hay and straw well alight which they set about putting out.
The incident was scaled down shortly after 1am this morning and at 3.30am fore crews remained on the scene "carrying out a watching brief".
