A DRIVER has been fined for driving without due care in Ilminster after “narrowly missing an oncoming cyclist”.

The driver was fined £480 and ordered to pay £85 in costs, and £192 in victim surcharge.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Without Due Care (10/2023) Ilminster.

“A driver lost control just before the bend narrowly missing an oncoming cyclist who veered out of the way and then stopped just before hitting the informant.

“In court (04/2024) where driver pleaded guilty by post: 6 points, £480 fine, £85 costs, and £192 victim surcharge.”
