The BBC Young Musician 2010 winner, Lara Melda, is set to perform at Concerts in the West for the first time.

One of the UK's premier music talents, Ms Melda has become a staple name within the music industry and will be showcasing her talents through a series of upcoming performances in June.

Her debut at the Concerts in the West will be launched at Bridport Arts Centre at 11.30am on June 21.

She will then perform later that same day in Ilminster Arts Centre at 7.30pm and June 22 at The Dance House in Crewkerne.

Ms Melda was crowned BBC Young Musician 2010 after performing Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No 2.

Since the competition, she has performed alongside the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in Cardiff.

Ms Melda made her BBC Proms and Royal Albert Hall debut in 2023.

She has taken part in fundraising projects following the devastating earthquake in Türkiye and Syria.

Her 2024 programme includes an assorted repertoire of masters Liszt and Chopin.

Concerts in the West will also host the Gildas Quartet in a programme in April and Pocket Sinfonia in May.
