MANY schools across the country celebrated National Careers Week and Herne View Church of England Primary School was no exception.

Children from EYFS all the way up to Year 6 (and even some pre-school children) had the opportunity to learn about a variety of different careers through a range of employer encounters.

Parents of children at the school and local employers volunteered their time to teach the children about their jobs and the skills required to pursue them.

The children learnt about everything from helicopter simulation to potato farming to working in the NHS.

Chard & Ilminster News:

They were even lucky enough to have a visit from the team at Sharandy's Birds of Prey and some of their beautiful birds.

A barn owl flying over their heads was certainly a memorable experience.

The children thoroughly enjoyed finding out more about how their learning in school links to future careers and are feeling inspired about their future learning and development.

The school would like to thank Miss Swinson and Miss Roy for organising Careers Week this year.
