A BURST water main left some households in Langport and Martock without water or low pressure this morning.
Wessex Water reported the problem earlier today, but they now say most properties have water supply restored now.
A spokesperson said: "We're currently carrying out a rezone of the pipework which will bring the majority of customers back into supply.
"As a large area is affected, customers who do have water will notice pressure is lower than normal.
"Our team are working hard to bring all customers back into supply and restore pressure as quickly as possible.
"When supplies are restored, you may experience discoloured water."
Residents around Martock experienced different levels of inconvienence this morning, but most homes are now back to normal.
Mr Hawkins, of 5 Old Market, said: “I noticed as I flushed the toilet and it took a while to fill up. Something wasn’t quite right, it was running a lot slower.
“No one told us anything about it. I know my neighbours on Marwin Close had their water completely turned off.
“All I have heard is there is a fault at Long Load bridge, but that is not confirmed.”
Mrs Julia Harding, of 30 Marwin Close, said: “We were affected by the water being turned off this morning. Nobody could do anything, we couldn’t wash our hair.
“The water came back on around 10:30am, Wessex Water called us to tell us it was back on so I assume they called around the area. They told us there might be some discolouration and the water pressure would be low for a while.”
