SOMERSET County Council is holding a number of drop-in sessions at libraries across the county to allow residents to find out more about the proposed changes to the Library Service.

The first session will take place on Monday November 24 between 3pm and 7pm at Yeovil Library.

Staff will be on hand to go over the proposed changes in detail.

The proposals include: • Enable and inspire all to take advantage of the digital age • Develop and expand our outreach services for those that cannot visit a library • Implement criteria for mobile library stops and introduce alternatives to the mobile library service • Phase out the lending of CDs • Deliver the Performing Arts Library service in a different way • Seek alternative suggestions for changes so that library services represent excellent value for money and meet need and demand People will be able to see the full consultation and fill in a questionnaire.
