FERNE Animal Sanctuary’s very popular Hallowe’en family events are back again this year.

Witches, zombies, ghosts and fairies alike of all ages are invited to attend two spooktacular occasions during half-termweek Monday, October 27, to Sunday, November 2, at their sanctuary in Wambrook, near Chard.

There are some treats – and definitely some tricks in store.

The main event is on Wednesday, October 29, from 11am to 4pm, entry charge is £3 per car.

Among hair-raising ghost stories and terrifying tales there will be a scary pumpkin competition, frightening face painting and ghoulish games.

There’s even a chance for everyone – no matter what age – to enter the fancy dress competition and come face to face with some really creepy critters!

Readily available will be eerie cakes for munching, but also hearty, homemade Hallowe’en food . . . and, of course, a pets corner, too.

A Spooky Scavenger Hunt searching for clues around the Sanctuary, entry £1, and a Gruesome Grab is being held every day of the week between Monday, October 27, to Sunday, November 2.

Visitors for this event will need a pass (except for Wednesday, October 29, when the charge is £3 per car).

Passes are £5 per family or £2 per adult, £1 per child over three years old. They are valid for repeat visits until the end of 2014.

Sharon Pavey, head of fund-raising at Ferne Animal Sanctuary, said: “Our Hallowe’en Open Day has been running for years and is a firm favourite with our supporters.

“We love seeing so many children coming up to the Sanctuary having fun but also appreciating all the very special animals we have.”
