A GREETINGS card and party supplies company will open a new store in Chard next month, it has been confirmed.
Card Factory, which has over 1,000 stores across the UK and Ireland, offers customers products including cards, gifts, wrapping paper and balloons.
Job adverts listed on Indeed show the company is seeking a store manager, an assistant manager, a key holder, and several sales assistants in Chard.
That is despite the nearest stores to the town currently being found in Honiton, Taunton, and Bridport.
Now, the Chard and Ilminster News can reveal the company will be opening its new store midway through next month.
A spokesperson said: “We do indeed have a store coming soon to Chard, opening on Fore Street in mid-November.”
Card Factory was founded in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in 1997. Its head office is still located in the city.
It designs and makes most of its products in the UK, and offers personalised products made to order.
The company says it is “the leading specialist retailer of greetings cards, gift dressings and party products in the UK” and offers “outstanding quality at exceptional prices”.
Since 2006, the business has raised more than £7 million for Macmillan Cancer Support through a variety of fundraising events.
